Hurricane that saved Buckingham Palace to go on display at IWM London

On 30 May, Channel Five screened the live excavation of a Hurricane which crash-landed in Buckingham Palace Road during the Battle of Britain in 1940. The Hurricane pilot spotted a Dornier making its approach to the Palace and flew into it in a successful attempt to stop the attack.

The dramatic story will be told in a documentary on Channel Five this summer and, from 17 July, visitors to the Imperial War Museum London can view recovered parts of the plane.
