What is Gift Aid?  

Gift Aid is a simple and effective way to make your donation tax effective.  With Gift Aid, all donations made by UK taxpayers qualify for tax relief, enabling the Museum to increase the value of your gift by 28% - at no extra cost to you.

To qualify for Gift Aid what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must at least equal the amount we will claim in the tax year. There is no need to disclose tax details regardless of the amount or frequency.
 
If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can personally benefit from a Gift Aid donation.  The Museum receives the tax basic rate and you can reclaim the higher rate paid via your self-assessment form.
