Lawrence of Arabia - the Life, the Legend
Since his death in 1935, the extraordinary career of T E Lawrence has continued to fascinate historians, writers, military strategists and the wider public. Known throughout the world as 'Lawrence of Arabia', he remains one of the most famous and enigmatic figures of the twentieth century.
The Fatal Salient
An account of life at the Front during the First World War using the letters and paintings of Harold Sandys Williams. A rifleman in the King's Royal Rifle Corps from January 1916, Williamson saw service on the Somme, Ypres and finally the German Spring Offensive of 1918.
Women and War
Between 15 October 2003 and 18 April 2004 a major exhibition was held at Imperial War Museum London. This exhibition told the story of servicewomen, nurses, land girls, factory workers, secret agents, pilots and peacekeepers from the First World War to the present day.

Twelve Soldier Poets of the First World War. In 2003 the Imperial War Museum held a major exhibition of manuscripts, letters, diaries, works of art, photographs and personal mementoes relating to twelve war poets of the First World War.
Eric Ravilious - Imagined Realities
Eric Ravilious (1903-1942) is now one of the most popular artists of his period. He was a painter of watercolours and murals, a book illustrator in wood engraving and lithography, and a designer of transfer-ware pottery. From 1940 he was an Official War Artist, painting memorable pictures of ships, aircraft and coastal defences, until his tragic death in a flying accident off Iceland in 1942.
