Preliminary visits
Make a preliminary visit if at all possible. Admission to the museum is free. Please ring 0207 416 5313 for free use of the schools’ audio tours so that you may see how your students can be supported during their visit to the exhibition.
Booking
Please telephone 020 7416 5313 to book your visit. School groups who have not booked will not be allowed into the Holocaust Exhibition. Because of the nature of the subject and the material on display, we can only accept students from Year 9 and above.
Planning your day
Your visit to the Holocaust Exhibition will take up to two and a half hours and will give your students much to think about. Schools are advised to consider this carefully before seeking to combine a visit to the exhibition with detailed work in other galleries.
Party sizes
A maximum of 60 students is allowed per school on one visit. Large groups will need to be split for the orientation and feedback sessions to facilitate discussion.
Year 9 and GCSE students
All visits to the Holocaust Exhibition must include an orientation and feedback session. You should allow two and a half hours for your visit plus time for a lunch break.
AS and A2 groups
Sixth form groups may choose to visit the Holocaust Exhibition without the orientation and feedback sessions, but must still book their visit in advance. Sixth form groups are strongly encouraged to book the orientation and feedback sessions, which can be adapted for their particular learning needs, and must do so if they wish to use the audio tours. If you do book the sessions, allow two and a half hours for your visit. Special activities for sixth form groups are also available.
Changing bookings and cancellations
Because of popular demand we are unable to change bookings once they have been made. Cancellations a month or less before your visit will incur a fee of £50.
