Henry Moore is perhaps the most celebrated public artist of the twentieth century. His instantly recognisable bronze abstracts have inscribed themselves
into the civic landscape around the world.
War and Utility explores how Moore was influenced by the human responses to conflict, revealing how the Spanish Civil War, the Second World War and the austere post-war decade informed his practice.
The exhibition will open to the public at 12.00pm on
14 September 2006.
